The older rocket was already waiting for them. Unsurprising, considering it was headquarters. Though they had never asked, they had their suspicions that perhaps Cillian, like them, lived at the base. It was easier to go out on assignments if you lived where you worked, after all.

Like before, the underboss didn't waste any time, inquiring about their battle skills before Sage could even consider greeting the man. That was a very good question. Most of their battling had been against their twin and Absalom as they had trained to take on the gym circuit. While they had never lost to their twin, they had never won against Absalom. But they were also aware of the younger teen being a genius, so they were aware that even being able to hold their own against Absalom was saying something.

"I trained to take on the gym circuit before ending up here. I would like to think the training I went through made me a pretty skilled battler. To not be lacking with my newer Pokémon, I put them through the same training I put Poseidon and Nightwing through. There's no use in having Pokémon if you're not going to train them to be the best," he said, finally answering the underboss's question.

War. Of course they had known about the conflict between Rocket and League long before they had joined. If things were different they wouldn’t be having this conversation with Cillian but a league official. They had been all ready to fight for the league. They had dreamed of being a hero who took out the big bad rockets. Things change though and heroes didn’t exist, not real ones. They had come to learn that the hard way and with their views skewed they had decided to pledge their alliance to Rocket.

“True enough, one who takes the gym circuit could easily just figure out what moves are strong against what Pokémon and use that as a basis to make their way through the gym circuit. Doesn’t really force out of the box thinking. In all honesty one doesn’t even have a be a god strategist to make their way through the gym circuit.”

As he spoke it was clear they considered themself among the few who took part in out of the box thinking when it came to battling. Of course the they had had Absalom as an example was a plus. He seemed to actually think over the benefits of each move before using them, or so he figured.

“Double battle fine?” they asked.

After getting some kind of confirmation and realizing they were up first they released Soulfire, the Chandelure, and Kitsune, their Thievul, from their pokeballs.

Now all there was to do was to see what Pokémon Cillian used. Of course it was also possible the older rocket would send more than two out.[break] Cillian Quinn

Listening to what the older rocket had to say, they nodded. While it was true they sometimes did that, it was more to have their opponents let their guard down. They were capable of so much more than just following the way other people battled. They weren’t afraid to fight dirty if they had to.

When the battle commenced, they weren’t to surprised when the older rocket used types that were strong against Soul Fire; that was the downside of battling someone one wasn’t too familiar with.

No Guard, they hated that fucking ability. Hmmm, but were there ways to trick that ability? Before they could give it much thought, Cillian started the battle. “Soulfire disrupt the attack,” they ordered, and the chandelier would fire off a Shadow Ball at the incoming stone spheres, causing the attacks to collide. Due to the closeness off the stone spheres, Soulfire would actually get sent flying back a bit, but the move had done as they wanted, though next time maybe they should stand further back if they were going to try something so reckless.

Only sparing a glance to Soulfire to ensure she was okay, they would direct Kitsune to go for an attack of her own. The fox Pokémon would go for the Lycanroc with an assurance, probably since it wasn’t a partial dark type meaning the move wouldn’t loose effectiveness.[break] Cillian Quinn
